Fin and Haydn have spent the past 10 years developing and documenting Lighthouse Thinking™ a body of knowledge for agile, digital or business transformation and how to achieve value in the digital economy. Lighthouse Thinking™ is based on deep practical knowledge and experience of the field.
Fin has been a member of the senior executive team at a variety of companies, startups and enterprises, as well as leading digital and mobile transformations. These include lastminute.com, one of the first high growth digital companies on the Internet, at the global booking engine, Sabre Holdings and Travelocity, the hugely successful Paddy Power Betfair and large scale financial services organisations such as HSBC, RBS, Visa and Aviva.
In each of these roles, he has been able to develop and implement key elements of Lighthouse Thinking™ – rapid situation analysis (transformation sprints), deep culture change, transparency and collaboration, visual ways to work, improved portfolio management and new ways to lead. At the same time, he has pioneered the introduction of what are now more mainstream practices like DevOps, agile and kanban. He has a gift for enabling employees to find their own solutions to business-critical challenges and is now an expert in business agility.
He has consistently been named as one of the top global CIO’s year-on-year and is recognised as one of the most experienced enterprise agile leaders in the world today. Fin is in demand as a coach for CEOs, COOs, CIOs and CTOs and as a keynote speaker and panellist. He is the co-author of Flow: A Handbook for Changemakers and 12 Steps to Flow.
Haydn has a thirty-year background in innovation and transformation, especially in new commercial applications of technology and mobile infrastructure. He began his career supervising experiments in downstream satellite commercialisation at the EU and went on to design projects in social search, satellite content delivery for migrant workers, multimedia brokerages, blockchain and ecological well being, Fintech assessment products and financial indices.
Through this extensive engagement with application innovation, he has been able to lead the Lighthouse Thinking™ development of new value discovery tools, refining innovation techniques, ecosystem design, new customer journeys and business model regeneration.
A thought leader for several US think tanks, such as nGenera and Gigaom, his work has appeared in the Harvard Business Review, Strategy and Leadership, the Wall St Journal and Forbes, where he wrote the Rethinking Innovation column for four years. He wrote one of the first books on the platform and ecosystem economy (The Elastic Enterprise) and served on the platform advisory panel at global financial infrastructure provider SWIFT. As an expert in platforms, he has also provided executive-level advisory services on economic disruption and is an expert in Chinese ecosystem developments.
